It's just the narrow depth of field at 1.8 isn't it?

I had exactly the same problem when I aquired my copy of the 31mm. Started immediately do do all kinds of (home) testing and so on.

What I have found is that the FA 31 does better in daylight compared with indoor tungsten light or flash. The sharpness wide open is very good at mid distances but not razor sharp.

After a while I realised that pictures are not just pixels but whole images and, before pixel peeping, one is better to look at how wonderful images this lens is delivering.

Now I am very happy with my FA Trio
