Oh yes, I have read the same and agree on that point. I was more specifically referring to the glass bubbles. So long as one has ready access to a repair dude, I would not hesitate to buy a cheap Kiron and simply get it cleaned. It could still work out to be a good deal. (Unfortunately I do not meet that pre-condition.)

If the OP can get the 24mm f/2.8 shwn in the review, they should. It is a very nice lens, pretty darn sharp, and a handy wide angle (moderate of course) on digital in a very compact package. With a slight boost to contrast and saturation, nearly perfect. Definitely better than the Tamron SP 24mm, for instance.
