Pentax 35mm f2 cheap!

I was in Curry's to buy a lead and saw a special offer, Xenon 35mm f2 in a case. I knew it was a re-branded Pentax 35mm f2 because I remembered reading it here. The price surprised me, last of line, £149.

So I bought it. Superb lens, on a par with my 70mm f2.4 in my tests and I'm chuffed with what seems a decent bargain.

Congrats before i got my da 40 that's my most used lens. The DA 40 gets more these days because its newer and smaller, but the FA is wayyy more versatile and has smoother bokeh

In what way more versatile did you find, Andi? I've never used the 40mm f2.8.

The DA is too long and half as fast. That could be what he means.

Wow, that was cheap!
For the money I think I'd take it even if it said Canon on it

Absolute bargain.

Just been down to my local Currys, and their computer says they are now out of stock across the whole country...

I find it more versatile for FOV (35mm can shoot more stuff, and you can always crop to 40mm), DOF control (f2 vs f2.8), low light (k-x took care of this though), and close focusing

Although if anyone in the UK finds one: if they buy it I'll buy it I promise I'll straight away buy it back from them for £175!
