Pentax DSLR lens weight support???

Hi fellow Pentaxians...!

I have my Pentax K110D and 8*ist DS, and we all know that the body is made of hard plastic and has a metal framing/chassis inside. And, we all know that we can mount old lenses on it (which are metal and very heavy).
My question is: can the K110d or *ist DS's mount support the weight of heavy metal lenses and without lens collar(for example, the SMC Pentax-A 70-210mm 1:4)? I fear that if I will just let hang the heavy lens on the camera (hanging from shoulder or camera mounted on tripod), the weight of the lens might break-off or destroy the mount of the camera?

Thanks in advance...

It probably won't break but there are a few threads about using aftermarket collars if it concerns you.

I would like to use a tripod collar but there's no way I can fit one on my Pentax-A 70-210mm 1:4.

It will not break the mount, but having a heavy unsupported weight when on a tripod will not provide the best results.

A pentax 70-200mm f4 is not a heavy lens. I have walked around literally for years with my istD and a sigma 70-200F2.8 plus a tc, or a pentax 300mm F4 and a TC and hold camera and lens just by the body

It won't break

Never tried mounting by the tripod socket in the body though
