A 35-70mm f4 stays on my camera 90% of the time unless I'm going out to shoot something specific. When I'm at parties I usually bump up the iso to 800 and let er rip.

Sigma 30 1.4 normally, sigma 10-20 and a flash bouncing on ceiling/walls if I'm in the right mood.

I might use my fish-eye for some funny looking pictures, or my superzoom 28-200mm for versatility.

Yeah, i believe it's the best... I mean, the sigma 30 is just a 31 for less money (and less quality! )

To my own surprise I never poured beer or something else over my precious equipment. Well, it is sealed but I don't want to take it that far. And also I never dropped it - which is almost a wonder thinking about my own and the others condition in a party "situation".
So, regardless of the outer circumstances I take the lens that does it best - which mostly is the DA* 16-50 - it's simply the most versatile. Also my Metz 48 AF-1. That camera is big, so using a smaller lens won't help making it less obvious.
