Update on broken lens

I managed to fix the 16-45mm lens I dropped. Turns out that there is a small square piece of metal (the thingamybob) that controls the aperture ring. It was bent toward another rectangular piece of metal (the doohickey). I was able to gently pry them apart, slap the lens back on my camera and, yipee, it works like a charm again. All smiles again.

Great to hear and I really an impressed with your use of the proper nomenclature.
I could not have said it better myself !!!!!!

But it is great that you figured out how to fix it. Very impressive indeed !!!!

Well, I have to admit that I compared it to another lens' guts because I figured that there couldn't really be too much wrong with it as it fell such a small distance. I was really lucky and grateful too. Hope that never happens again.

Good news! Just be glad you didn't break the dooflotchy or the whatchamacallit, once they go it's basically hosed.

Maybe it just curled up when it heard what its technical description was (I know I would have done) .........

For 30 years, I've been spelling that word incorrectly.

For thirty years I've been looking for a way to use it in a sentence.
