Remount Sigma AF lens from Nikon to Pentax?

I may have access to a very cheap Sigma 17-70mm 2.8-4.5, but it's for the Nikon mount.

Is it possible to "remount" to the KAF mount and retain all the AF functionality? If it's technically possible, I'll ask for repairers and see if the modification is feasible. I'm in Sydney, Australia.

Otherwise, I suppose I could use an adapter, but are there issues to do with that? I know I'll lose all electrical contact, which I suppose I can deal with, but I'd rather not.

Thanks!

I don't think so, at least it won't be cost effective if it is possible. As for the adaptor, the ones that retain infinity focus have a glass element in them. I have one and it adds extra (0.3 I think) magnification which for a lens like that, would be detremental. Best to keep looking around, I think.
