I have the 60-250 and it is a very, very, very nice lens.
It is not all that bigger than the 50-135 and almost twice as long.
Combined with a 1.7 AF TC it is good enough to do wildlife shooting.

The AF is slower than with my DA* 16-50, but not too bad...

Still I like it a lot!

I did hear that it could cause some dark coner in some range of 60-250.

Falconeye has said that the 60-250 is a full frame lens, as are the DA *200 and DA *300. As to what Pentax is thinking, their goal is to mimic focal lengths on APS-C that they had on film. So, for instance, they replaced the FA 85 with the DA *55. I think in this case, they had a goal of a 100-300 equivalent, but with a little extra, while the 50-135 is supposed to be a 70-200 equivalent.

This was the last of the DA* telephotos to be marketed by Pentax, yet was one of the most anticipated. I suspect that those who were looking for a high quality telephoto from Pentax loaded-up on the 50-135 and the 300 or 200, while the 60-250 was in development. So, when the 60-250 hit the streets, many potential buyers were packing a 50-135 for low-light shots and/or the 300 for long shots.

Yes that's exactly what I did, bought the DA*50-135, then later the Tamron 70-200/2.8, and finally the DA*300. So theoretically I could replace all three with just the DA*60-250. (But it would be a tough proposition to give up my 50-135! And I like the DA*300 a heck of a lot too.) And I have no problem hand-holding the 50-135 at some pretty slow shutter speeds but doubt I'd get away with it for that big 60-250.
