Problem with new old Mamiya 135mm 2.8

My $10 bargain arrived today, and she won't tighten all the way into the M42 adapter.

Anybody got a clue?

She's labeled Auto Mamiya Sekor SX, but without an M/A switch, I was certain this had to be native M42.

The Mamiya Sekor SX lenses had an extra pin to transmit aperture data to the camera. Could that be what is causing the problem?

There is indeed a tiny little pin protruding on the outer edge perimeter of the base, but there's also a little lip around there too, maybe 1/32" high, and the pin doesn't extend beyond that.

I'll check your link--and thanks!

This seems to be my answer, on page two your link:

"BTW I just realised how much work it is to have converted that SX lens. Rip out that little pin (or grind it down), take apart the back and grind down the outer aperture ring (cause it is protruding, don't fit on K100D otherwise), and also lock the mechanics to 'manual', cause it doesn't have an A/M switch. Now the aperture clicks are a little heavy to move, due to the 'manual' conversion."

But how the heck do you lock the mechanics?

This lens is weird:

It has a retractable lens hood, and the lens is two pieces which actually screw apart! And an older model--only 5 digits in serial #.
