Would love to see these photos in a larger size. I know it trumps the DA15 and the Sigma 10-20 in overall image quality. I'm curious as to how it stacks up to the new Sigma 8-16mm and any other ultra wides made for the K-mount.
Those photos should lead you to the full-size with a click, but if not, they're available on my user gallery.

I'd be tipping to say that the IQ matches each UWA rival, and beats them when it comes to the crunch - corner sharpness and wide open results.

Whenever I see two lenses with results like the DA15 and 12-24 in Photozone, I tend to say they are essentially equal in sharpness in the real world. I've taken about 1,000 shots with the DA15 and about 150 with the DA12-24, and for my uses (usually at wider apertures and no tripod) I don't see significant differences in sharpness.

However, the DA15 images have a certain snap and color rendition that is, to my eye and memory, quite different. I suppose at some time I may find the right subject to compare the two more precisely. With the DA15, the hood is built in and it gets used every single time I use the lens. Pulling out the metal hood on a DA Ltd (like some of my old M lenses) is part of the routine. On the DA12-24, the large-diameter plastic hood is a bit of a PITA when pulling the camera from the bag or stowing, and it often does NOT end up in shooting position. This probably causes subtle effects as well as some not so subtle flare.
