tokina 28-70mm f2.8

Hi everybody.

I can buy some interesting standard zoom "on every day" named
Tokina AT-X Pro AF 28-70mm F2,8

And I very interesting in your opinion about this lens...

I know, its soft on 2.8, its heavy, and like to catch a flares (dont know how is right to tell)...

But other things ?
Should I spent 250-300$ on this lens ?

Sorry for my eng.

There have been many versions of this lens... I'm not sure which one you are talking about, but here is some decent info on the different versions: Nikon glass: Tokina AT-X Pro 28-70mm f/2.6-2.8

If it indeed has the same optical formula as the Angenieux 28-70mm lens, then it is certainly worth the $250-300. It may not be the sharpest or the most flare resistant but it has other qualities that makes it a top notch lens.

You might like the Tokina ATX 28-85mm, which I have used for a short period. Nice build quality
