Must get LBA under control

I've bought 2 cameras and 6 lenses this week.

Pentax ME and ME Super, 3 50mm 1.7s - Sears Auto MC, Pentax M, and Pentax A, Pentax M 28mm F3.5, Vivitar 28-200 F3.5-5.3, and Asanuma 200mm F3.5

I guess I can justify it by telling myself that I got 3 Pentax lenses, plus a bunch of other stuff, including a winder, flash and polarizer, for $208 when KEH sells the 28 for $99 - the M 1.7 $89 and the A 1.7 for $149.

Oh my you do have it bad...Clinically speaking, the first step of curing an addiction is to give away the object or substances to which you are addicted. I would be happy to assist you in breaking your habit.

It could have been worse, you could have paid the correct prices for all this kit.

That's what they Ask. Doesn't mean they Sell them for that. I would still say you did pretty well though. As for getting LBA under control, Not possible unless your wallet is empty.

Possible cures for LBA: incarceration, coma, death.
Possible treatments for LBA: amputations, blinding.
Faint hopes for LBA: absolutely none - you're doomed.

How would you like to buy some superb Minolta stuff? I have two (2) SRT-101's and some gorgeous hunks of Rokkor glass, all in pristine condition. The lenses: 28/2.5 SI, 55/1.7 PF, 100/2.5 PF, and 300/4.5 HF. And a CPC MC 2x TC. No reasonable offer refused.

Your LBA can't be cured, but it CAN be fed, heh heh.

The 12 steps of Lens Buyers Anonymous

The 12 Steps of Lens Buyers Anonymous
  1. We admitted we were powerless over lenses - that our camera bags had become unmanageable.
  2. Came to believe that a Marketplace greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lenses over to the care of the Forum members, as we know them by their PayPal addresses.
  4. Made a searching, fearless and thorough inventory of our camera bags.
  5. Admitted to the Marketplace, to ourselves, and to another special person (looking over our shoulders as we type) the exact nature of our finances.
  6. Were entirely ready to have the Marketplace remove all these defects of rational judgment about shooting with what we have, not what we dream about.
  7. Humbly asked the Marketplace to remove our excess lenses for a reasonable price.
  8. Made a list of all buyers we had harmed by refusing to sell, and became willing to make amends to them all.
  9. Made direct amends to such buyers wherever possible, except when to do so would just injure them with this affliction.
  10. Continued to take inventory of our camera bags, and when we bought something we didn't need promptly sold it.
  11. Sought through taking photographs and posting them in the forum to improve our conscious contact with the members, seeking only a vision of the Golden Spiral and the skill to carry that out.
  12. Having had an artistic awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other Lens Buying Addicts, and to practice these principles in all our lustful affairs with camera equipment.
Interesting Historical LBA Thread

Only ONE of everything? What about backups, spares, testable copies? How can I be SURE the M50/1.7 is good unless I've tested five of them? And compare it to Meyer, Zeiss, Yashinon, Mamiya, and Angenieux 50/1.7's and f/1.8's? Not to mention the Taks. And the 55's. I'll need at least three of each to make a good evaluation. And they must all be tested on both APS-C and FF. And m4/3 tests couldn't hurt. Oh no, just ONE of everything will hardly suffice. Darn, that means I must commit more identity theft. At least that's easier than knocking over minimarts.

Since this is about lenses more than cameras (and to the extent it is about cameras, it is *film* cameras, not DSLR), I'm moving it the proper forum.
