Hello,
I'm thinking about buying the DA 16-45 for use on my K100D. My question is whether or not I'll see much difference in image quality when compared to the DA 18-55. I would assume that there's a more perceptible difference between using these two lenses on the K10D because of the K10D's higher resolution.

I'm interested in the wider view and constant aperture of the DA 16-45, but if there's not much difference in image quality I don't know if it's worth the cost.

Can anyone else who has used both lenses on the K100D tell me if the DA 16-45 delivers a marked difference in IQ?

You will notice it, not only for sharpness

the contrast is much better, almost like a prime,
its much better than the da18-55 at the wide range (16-24mm)
no vignetting at f5.6 and above at 16mm

the da16-45 got better sharpness at about any focal length, and straight from f/4, the edge sharpness is much better too!,

Overall i'd say the 16-45 is much better at wide focal length and, a tad better at longer focal length than the 18-55

I did this recently. The 16-45 is a great lens, a cut above the 18-55. he results have more contrast and 'pop' to them. The only downs are higher CA and sometimes the AF hunts a bit more, but nothing I can't live with.

It's a fantastic lens. The little extra on the wide end is enough to make it worth it.
