I echo those that recommend either of the 17-x versions. Unless you know otherwise, 28 mm is just not wide enough (the work around being two photos and stitch). I like my 17-70 (I have DA 17-70) and use the full range, so 17-70 would be my recommendation. But if you are okay with the cropping of the 17-50, then that may be best. The 17-50 has had some reports of front/back focus, so I would make sure the lens is okay before you leave. Can you adjust lens focus on your camera? Thanks. Glenn
