Pentax FA50 f1.7 at Broadway Photo

I'm interested in acquiring an FA50 1.7 Pentax lens, and Broadway Photo is showing one "new" on their web-site. It's my understanding that this lens is no longer being produced, and I was wondering if Broadway is one of those companies that specialize in "conning" their customers. Has anyone had any experience dealing with them? Thanks for your response.

Never heard of them. It could be new-in-box that got lost in a warehouse somewhere though.

Broadway photo is very well-known. Any time you have questions about an internet retailer, Reseller Ratings should be your first stop....

Broadway Photo / A&M Photo World, Regal Camera, Prestige Camera, Preferred Photo, Royal Camera, more Customer Ratings, Reviews and Prices at ResellerRatings

Their lifetime rating is 1.09 out of 10. Read that sentence again. If you are still considering buying from them, read it again. B&H, on the other hand, has a lifetime rating of 9.38 out of 10.

B&H Photo-Video-Pro Audio Customer Ratings, Reviews and Prices at ResellerRatings

The FA50/1.7 is an older version of the FA line. I'm guessing it's "New Old Stock" from somewhere. Personally, I *love* the Pentax 50/1.7. I have 3. But, the FA50/1.4 is the most recent production model. They aren't that hard to find for around $250US.

Good luck.

Ericc:

This is what I suspected. Thanks for your very important input and your link to reseller ratings. Needless to say, I'll not be doing business with Broadway Photo.
