Another Ricoh: Auto Rikenon 35mm f/2.8 (M42) lens

I recently bought a user SP1000 body without lens, my first screwmount camera in years.
I prefer the 35mm focal length as my normal lens. Today I bid on and won an eBay auction for an Auto Rikenon 35/2.8 lens.
The SMC Takumar 35/3.5 lens I once owned was excellent, but this one is a little faster and much cheaper ($15 plus postage).
Has anyone ever owned and used one of these? Or am I going to be the only poster in The Rikenon Club! thread?

Chris

Hi Chris,

You're probably tired of seeing me in your novelty lens threads, but I've got to direct your attention to the fact that this lens isn't in our database yet

Original Poster
Auto Rikenon 35/2.8 (M42) first impressions

Lens arrived today. It is nicely made, like most Japanese lenses from the 1960's.
Lens is larger than a standard 55 Takumar; the eveready case is a very tight fit...

Chris,
When you tire of the Rikenon, you can send it to me. I have the Singlex TLS to fit it to.

I own one. SN 16132. I don't know who made this one... It's well built and looks "serious".
I haven't use it for a long time. It never impressed me (which doesn't mean it's a bad lens), compared to other "off-brand" 2.8/35mm I own (Cosinon MC ; Chinon MC). That said, all three may come from the same maker, but the Rikenon is obviously older and lacks multicoatings.
