DA 70mm Ltd. 'Clunk'

My DA 70 seems to have a loose front element; when applying light finger pressure to the filter ring the front of the lens clunks very slightly to the sides - it's really obvious when the screw-in hood is attached. It's hard to tell by eye, but I'm pretty sure that the entire front element moves with it. I'm assuming this is a bad thing, as the lens' elements should stay parallel to the sensor, no?

It still takes good pictures, though...anyone else with a DA 70 seen this?

Pete

You're absolutely right. It's broken. just for display purposes, I will take it off your hands for $50 plus the cost of shipping

I don't know about the DA 70, but on a lot of lenses the ring where the lens info is printed screws in.

If it's under warranty, I'd send it in.

If not, you can take a rubber pad or glove (trying not to touch the front element), and maybe you can screw the front ring clockwise a bit, and that might tighten it up.
