(I have to tell myself I am just replacing my DA 16-45 which was robbed from me( by my dear old brother when he comes round for a visit)...

Hahaha, Not only have you talked yourself into a rather dubious "excuse", but apparently the "theft" is anticipated rather than having already occurred. Nice work.

if he would rob and take your 16-45, instead of the DA15 and and DA35 macro, then he's doing a lousy job of being a thief.

There is mate, an enraged wife will do well to curb ones spending. I bought 2 M lenses, a flash and a new strap in one week... I am now lying low in anticipation for her letting me buy the next lens on my wishlist (i have only 3 lenses left on it )

wife: "so these two are the last lenses you are going to buy?"
me: "no"

LBA? What LBA? The only lenses I've acquired recently (last couple weeks) are: Mamiya-Sekor 55/2 (US$6.50); Sears-Ricoh 55/1.4 ($16); Fujinon 50/1.9 ($1.75); Schneider PC (perspective control) Cinelux 60/2.8 ($15); Isco Westagon 50/2 ($1); Soligor DualFocal 85+135/4 ($5); Super-Paragon 24/2.8 ($5.50); Rodenstock Omegaron 75/4.5 ($5.50); Sears-Ricoh 135/2.8 ($5); new unnamed (probably Cosina) KM-mount 50/2 ($5). Plus postage. I don't think I've gone overboard. Have I? But even though my other once shot Bronica MF, I still must keep the peace... so I'm finally working at getting some excess glass sold. Oops, I'd better stop typing here and get back to work. "Yes dear, I'll have the listings posted Real Soon Now."

I told myself that I wasn't going to buy any more 50's, then a S-M-C Tak 1.4 shows up attached to a Zenit E in need of repair on an auction site that I won't bring into the discussion. $41 plus shipping. That's it. Cold turkey on 50's.

May be I have LBA but one thing is sure: Not a single symptom as long as it concerns new Pentax lenses. I have a suspicion that Hoya's strategy is like this: Producing great cameras at quite competitive prices and have extremely expensive lenses to go on with. I hope I am wrong.

I swore it wouldn't happen to me, but here I am clicking send on my second Paypal transaction this week buying a lens I don't need.

I think I need to admit I have a problem
'Don't need' ... is that the same things as 'don't use'?

I have M50s f/1.4 and f/1.7. M135 f/3.5 and FA135 f/2.8. K105 f/2.8 and M100 f.2.8. Not a mention a variety of overlapping zooms.

I can't justify this overlap in terms of actual use. But I convince myself they are all different in their various ways. I tell myself I could sell them. But ...

Oh no, it's getting worse. I found an A50/1.7 attached to an ME Super and couldn't help myself (even though I already have a great A50/1.7).

So what's my excuse this time? "Just in case the other one breaks. Yeah, that's it."

I find myself seduced into considering lenses on mounts that I'd have to modify or adapt. Do I really need DKL-mount Voigtlander and Schneider and Kodak lenses, when a DKL-M42 adapter costs ~US$65 and a DKL-PK job is even more? Do I really want Exakta lenses which require custom-building adapters? Am I a glutton for punishment? Stay tuned for the gruesome details.

I really want a Mamiya-Sekor 55 1.4, but I don't think I should buy one until I fix the Mamiya 135 2.8 SX that won't mount until I grind the base down.

However:

I do have it sitting on the window ledge next to my computer, and I lovingly look at it and whisper, "Some day, my friend. Some day."

I had the the 55 1.4 in 1972 or so on a Mamiya-Sekor 1000, so I really have an emotional attachment to that lens. And if anyone is looking to sell one for a good cause, please think of me first.

My dad bought me that outfit, and now he's DEAD, so you know where I'm coming from here.
