Need Suggestion on FA 50mm f1.4

Hello fellow pentaxians, I need some serious advice:

I have a chance to buy a brand new FA 50mm f1.4 (Vietnam assembled) for $300 (CAD).

Now, I already have a Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 (early 8 element) and M 50mm f1.7 (also have M50f2, M40f2.8, S-M-C 55mf1.8).

So advice needed are (Just for AF ??)
1) Whether I should go for it (300$ is lot of money to me)
2) Can I replace any of them with the FA (I really like ST 50mmf1.4 when it is wide open)

For further info, I am with a pentax only for 3 months and also first DSLR (Canon EOS film before).

Do you need AF? If yes, then your answer is yes. If no, then only you can decide whether this lens is worth it to you.

I have the FA50 and love it. I also replaced my M50 f/1.7 with the FA50, but AF is of vital importance to me, and fiddling with the green button, or using m42 adapters doesn't interest me in the least.

The FA50 is a great lens and is worth $300 CDN, IMO.

If the $300 is a lot of money for you, I wouldn't waste it on the FA50. Instead, buy something in a different focal length that interests you. Add a few more $$ and you can have yourself a DA40mm Limited. Then sell that M40 to help pay for it. For the times you want to go to f1.4 at 50mm, use your Super Takumar.

That is making sense, Jeff. I will invest the money to a DA wideangle.
