FF? Sure, another fast fifty would be in production, but until then the DA 35 is the APS-C's new fast fifty (just not as fast).
An inexpensive ($150), fast lens like the Canon 50/1.8 would be very nice to have. I'd even forgive shoddy build quality if it were under $100. The f2.4 is about a whole stop slower than an f1.7 or f1.8 lens.
Truth be told, I'm not terribly excited about this lens.
I don't think FF is really a selling point considering there isn't much hope for one in the coming years.
