I really hope the 35mm f/2.4 is simply the first of many to come including the 50mm f/1.8 but thats just me.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pentax were to release a budget, all-plastic (DA L) 50mm sort of like Canon did with the 50mm/1.8. That's actually more likely than not, I think.

I think it would be nice yes.
A 35mm and 55mm kit prime would make a nice LBA entry point

I think a 50mm 1.8 would sell very well, but I think they were wise at starting with 35mm. I find 50mm more limiting on ASP-C than 28-35mm for general-purpose.
