FA series input please

Well, my school loans are coming in in a couple of weeks. I have been determined to get the new 50-135 along with a couple of other things.

The FA series, being a bit older, is lower in price. Now that I think of it I cant remember seeing an FA zoom on the list, but I'll keep looking.

The 77 1.8 Limited (silver) is the main one I want.

Will anyone who has any of the FA series lenses give me some feedback to help me shop? Also, if you are up to it and have some images handy I would be grateful to see em.

I have NO really sharp lenses, nor do i have any fast lenses. So this is one of the steps i need to take to get my K10D up to its potential, and get images out there in the market that kick some *ss.

thanks for your help and input

Mitch

I have the 77mm Limited

But I've not used it much yet, because of other stuff going on. BTW, there's a $100 rebate on it until the end of Sept., and past experience has seen a new one come out immediately. B&H sells it for $679 IIRC.

I just bought another K10D, grip, AF540 flash, and 77mm Limited, which gave me $250 in rebates. (unless I miscalculated, and "only" got $200).

Check PBase for images from that lens - you might be very pleasantly surprised.

Cheers,
Marc

I owned a FA 50mm f1.4 and a FA 135mm f2.8 [IF], both were exceptional lenses with a real solid build and amazing IQ. I also tested a FA 35 f2.0 which was another exceptional lens, the build quality of the FA series is very nice and the IQ I found was some of the best I'd used. As for the 77mm, if you search the boards you'll find a few topics in regards to the lens, I believe it holds a fair amount of praise

School loans are for school man. You've been having to pay them back later with INTEREST.

its a stafford loan which is designed to pay for school and for living expenses. so im thinking i can eat less, drive less, buy less coffee, quit smoking.....etc

and get a lens which is an investment in my business....which is wise
