Nokton is a rangefinder lens. I believe they could be mounted on K-mount cameras with adapter(s), but infinity focus would be lost due to difference in register distance.

Unless Pentax comes out with a mirrorless camera, you're not going to be able to use any of the M-mount Leica or Voigtlander lenses that are faster than f/1.2. AFAIK there are only a select group of lenses that even meet this description:

Leica 50mm f/1.0
Leica 50mm f/0.95
Voigtlander 50mm f/1.1

There are many f/1.2 and faster lenses, many being 20mm or shorter/wider, that you can fit to a Pentax dSLR. Unfortunately, TANSTAAFL (there ain't no such thing as a free lunch). Those are all meant for vid-cine cams and others with VERY small sensors. So the lens registers (back-of-lens to film/sensor frame distance) are too short, and the projected image circles are too small. Sure, they can be used unaltered for macros, reversed or normal. But for the would-be lens surgeon, no challenge is too great. Chop off the lens base to equalize registers, glue or solder or thread on a PK mount, and have at it.

In general, you can fit almost ANY lens to your camera. It just might not work very well, is all. Oh, you want lenses you can USE, is that it? Picky, picky, picky... OK, so just find a +25 diopter closeup lens of 49mm diameter and you'll have your 50/1.0 quite cheap. Of course, fringing and aberrations and softness will be pretty radical, but at f/1, WHO CARES?!?!?

As noted above I don't think there are any lenses faster than 1.2 which would fit Pentax without modification of some sort. 1.2 is very fast and I suspect you are approaching the realm of diminishing returns for the extra money spent for anything faster. The Leica Noctilux 50mm/0.95 is the fastest lens I'm aware of

and costs in the range of $10,000. Other than massive bragging rights I'm not sure how much that extra 1/2 stop and change is worth. Out of my price range in any case.

it's in a MFT mount, for the price you could by MFT body just to use that lens, probably only be out $1300 bucks when you're done, and given the nature of the question, I doubt a budget is a concern?

Having had a 50/1.2 for a while now, I am skeptical of the usefulness of such a fast lens for band photography. There is so little depth of field at f/1.2, never mind wider! But I'd love to see the pics to prove me wrong.

But isn't f0.95 only f1.9 on a MFT camera for DOF? F1.2 is already f1.9 on a Pentax dslr. You'd be better off with an f1.2 off brand lens and the up coming k5. Or you could get a medium format f2.4. For the amount of money a true f1.0 lens costs, these

serious possible different choices. Personally I'd go for the medium format f2.4 lens. Wicked IQ that spanks any Pentax aps-c dslr with the same DOF as f1.2 on aps-c.

I pretty much guarantee you *don't* want something faster than f/1.2 for band photography. Even f/1.2 is of extremely limited usefulness here. Most people shoot f/2.8 most of the time, f/2 sometimes, and f/1.4 rather more rarely. f/1.2 is practically unheard of. You aren't doing yourself any favors trading DOF for a higher shutter speed. If you're *lucky* you'll get a blur-free picture of the millimiter of the guy's face that's actually in focus. For the $10,000 that it would cost to get a faster lens, you might as well just buy a FF Canon or Nikon camera and shoot an f/1.8 lens at higher ISO. Or just keep your money and turn up the ISO on your current camera.

Look up: 'noctilux caring toronto' on google images. It'll be the color picture of the couple. It was on a luminous landscape article. If I had an extra $20k, the M9, noctilux and 35mm summilux M asph would be all I need.
