Kinda jealous of the A f1.2... I once found (and later sold) an A f1.4 at a garage sale for 10$ (with an AF280T and a Super program). I sold the A to purchase the F50 f1,7. If I found an f1.2 though, I'd never ever sell it. Yours looks pristine, quite impressive!

There is no Pentax A 50/1.2 or K 50/1.2 on there, nor a Meyer Primoplan 58/1.9, Zeiss 58/2. Until your population density spreads into the ~ 50mm lenses, you are really not even close to saturation. There is even room in there for a Tomioka. You don't even have any of the Super Tak 50/1.4 lenses or any of the Takumar 55 or 58's nor even a true Auto Takumar. And you call yourself a collector.Beer

Enough Fifty's Yet?

I suppose it's appropriate to paraphrase the ubiquitous quip -- "If you have to ask . . . ya ain't even close yet!

Well I'm down to just one now, which I admit suits all my needs and wishes in 50 and that's the SMC Pentax-A 50mm F1.2 (one of the few you appear to be missing).

Once you've acquired it, you may not feel the need for so many of the others.

Oh no, I'm more of an accumulator. To be a collector implies that one is trying to acquire the entire set. Collecting Taks and SMC's, even just the 50's, is too daunting for me. I have only one serious collection, a publication of which there were just 42 issues. Yes, I acquired the whole set, and then I stopped. It's good to have a clear-cut ending sometimes. (And no, I won't name the publication, because then my privacy would be gone.)

Anyway, I can see somewhere in my future: some f/1.2; some faster Tak 50; some 58/1.4. I'm actually selling some fast glass right now (eBay ID: r*m) because it does me no good: Canon FD 50/1.4, plain and SSC versions. Pretty soon, I'll list some LTM's that are equally useless to me: Jupiter-8 50/2, and a bunch of Industars (26, 26M, 61, 61 L/D x2), all 50-55/2.8. A couple Argus Cintars 50/3.5 will go also. That'll reduce my count of Fifty's a bit, like by ten. Will selling all those buy me some f/1.2? Right...

I'll still be left with some enlarger 50's. And when I mount that Lomo-Diana 50/5.6 Optical Lens on a helicoid, watch out!
