hi, it's very high on my wish list. there is reviews on nikon and canon mounts on PhotoZone distortion seems good but he does mention it is 'unusual for distortion'. Most people rave about its sharpness, but I think someone on dpreview say they were not happy with overall image.

from his reviews its cheaper, wider and less ca than pentax 12-24 but not quite as sharp and a touch more vignetting. (personally wider with less ca and $200-$300 cheaper makes the difference to me)

On my as well, but don't have cash yet...
and totaly agree, it's nearly half price of DA 12-24 here in London, and wider. Not much of an competition...

I got the lens speccifically for travelling. Not so much landscapes as Architecture and interior shots.

Many times I have found (especially in europe) that you cannot get far enough back to fit entire buildings in the viewfinder.

This summer I spent 2 weeks in france, and shot a lot with the 10-20. Overall I was pleased with the lens, however, I think there were a couple of times, at 10mm where there was a little distortion, but not significant.

I's sure if you look for it, you will find it, BUT overall the lens performed very well, and what distortion there was, was minimal.

I have a gallery full of 10-20 images here:

sigma_1020 Photo Gallery by alinla at pbase.com

I recently learned how to correct for the distortion in PS so most of the images in the gallery are uncorrected.

Hi Ivoire

I'm purchasing one of these Sigma 10-20mm lenses in the next week or so. Unfortunately a friend of mine bought this lens for his C****n 30D a couple of months ago and has been constantly banging on about the excellent image quality he's getting.......irritatingly, he may have a point ! Naturally I am slightly concerned, having read about quality control issues surrounding 'decentering' and 'soft' images issues in some early examples, so I shall certainly ensure that I get hold of a 'good' one ! I hope you'll forgive me, but I've taken the liberty of briefly 'improving' (i.e. straightening up) your first image........so comments please ?

confused...

you did straighten the first file a bit, but what happened to the images? is it because of the second hand download?
