When LBA strikes

I've been hemming and hawing over whether/which other Voigtlander SLII lens to buy since the news that they're discontinuing support for the KA mount. I decided to buy the 58mm Nokton this morning but before I did I figured I'd better check the 'Bay. There I found a lens from another manufacturer who's also discontinuing support for the mount, Zeiss - a 25mm Distagon. Both fairly close to the same price.

What to do? I have a K 24mm 2.8 and an A 50mm 1.7, so I sort of have the FLs covered. But I love my other Voigtlander so much. I've never really had great luck with the K 24mm. And, c'mon, it's a Zeiss at nearly half-off!

So I bought 'em both. <sigh>

Bring on the fall color and don't tell my wife!

It's like comparing apple and orange. Since you already have the Pentax 50 f1.7, I would suggest you get the Zeiss 25. Photozone says it's a good performer.

Peter

PS. I have the Voigtlander and Pentax FA 50 f1.4 and A 50 f1.7. The Voigtlander is sharper but not by much.

Congrats then!
I'd be interested to see some shots with the Zeiss

Yeah, that's the (somewhat) goofy part: I bought the apple *and* the orange.

I'm actually quite happy with my 1.7. I am interested in the Voigtlander's IQ but really attracted by the FL.

Hopefully the eBay guy ships quickly, I saw that Steve Gandy had already posted the Nokton. Curious to see which one ends up spending the most time on my K-7 since they're so different.

I have had the 25mm Zeiss for about a month, and I really like it. It has been on my K20 most of the time since, and probably will stay as my main lens as I like to shoot wide angle........that is until I can figure out how to get my hands on a Zeiss 21mm T!! Big$$$$$
