Another deal

i just closed a deal concerning the SP 300/2.8.
a very friendly person and a collector on another forum just sold me a 140F 1.4x and a 01F 2x and an impossible to find 200F 2x for a total of $90.. these are matched TCs for the 300. this will give me a 420/4 and a 600/5.6. i think my search for reach is over. everything about this lens has just fallen into my hands like clockwork. i think i may be dreaming. first the PKA adapter at half price, then the lens at 25% of the going rate, and now the matched TCs for about a third cost. the 200F is whats incredible as i've never seen one listed.

there are great people out there,
roy

That's a great deal roy, while the 01f is pretty common (I got an almost new one for $38) I've never seen the 200f for sale by itself- I would love to see some comparison shots I got a 140f for my 360b(newer version of 60b) like new for $82 and they changed the rear of the lens so it wouldn't fit There was a piece that protruded from the rear that was about 3/16" too long. Sooo I thought long and hard about it - and trimmed it off with a very small pair of tin snips I had and put some flat black paint on it and it worked like a charm I tested it against a kenko 1.5x and it looked sharper at the edges by a bit and much more solidly made, it pretty much has been staying on mine in my backpack-I put one in the gallery of an osprey the other day with the 140f but I can't figure how to link it yet and I gotta go! Have fun!!!

tom,
actually this started when he told me not to try to fix my 01F because he'd send another for postage. he said he had about 20 of them. by off chance i asked if he had the 140F and the 200F and the rest is history. the 200F is an absolutely incredible find no matter the money. like you i have never even seen one for sale. all three of these have the A setting also.

140f vs. 1.5x

I thought I'd mention when testing my 1.4x 140f against the kenko 1.5x, the 140f had slightly MORE magnification than the kenko so I have been setting the sr at 450mm. I'm not quite sure if it's right or not but it's working good. I get a lot of rejects practicing BIF due mostly to out of focus, but I'm slowly improving---and I'm not wasting film
