After seeing some pictures with this lens that Little Laker posted. I looked on Ebay and won one for $22. Mine is a K-mount (no A setting). I think I lucked out, the lens is in perfect condition. Serial number 28904759 so it's probably not a Kiron but it was made in Japan. Very nice build quality, all metal, nicely damped focusing ring, 49mm filter threads, stops down to f16.
This is the main reason why I love Pentax. It is so much fun to be able to collect older glass for such reasonable prices and be able to use it with my K10D. I haven't had a chance to take a lot of pictures with it yet but here's one I took this morning with Spike on our morning walk, well, Spike runs but I gave up running at about age 14, lol. This was handheld at 1/20 second. My only complaint with Pentax is our crippled mount and not having the aperture recorded in the exif, lame. I would have spent a few more bucks........... It was f5.6 give a half stop either way.
I shoot PEF, convert to DNG upon import to Lightroom and then exported to a jpg to show here, this is the picture that came out of the camera under those conditions .....
I need to pick one of these up..... I believe 28=Komine as far as the manufacturer of your lens.
