As much as I tried to convince myself that FA31 and K50/1.2 would be enough, I just can't force myself to let this one go. I know it would add up the list of "damn, did I really sell it" lenses right along of FA100/2.8 and F50/1.7...

Excellent shot Peter!

On another note, i just got my first set of prints back taken with my new fa43, and wow even tho they are only 8x12 they came back with absolutely stunning results! I can see myself getting huge prints out of this lens in the future

Agreed - beautiful rendition in that capture Peter.

And Simon, I believe it's in this process (enlargement prints) that the FA ltd series makes the biggest practical difference to other lenses of similar focal lengths.

I've had the FA 43 for several months now, and it's become the default lens on my K20D. And if it's not on the camera, it's always in the bag. (This one and the DA 15 Ltd can do a LOT, in a very compact package!) So far I don't miss the FA 35, FA 50/1.4, or FA 50/1.7 that I've owned, and the focal length suits me well. I've used it for night shots, portraits, still lifes... tough call but if I could only have ONE lens, this would probably be it. Even casual snapshots turn out beautifully with this lens: (1/60 at f1.9, ISO 400)

Amazing shots, guys--all of them.

Someday I have to try this lens on the right subject. I think it is being used here for its intended purpose.

If you do make that decision, you'll have a ready market here.

I have both the 43 Ltd and the 50/1.4. Although I love the 50 it's never in my bag anymore, whereas the 43 is either on my camera or in the bag.

If anyone is thinking to themselves that they would rather the extra telephoto of the 50 over the 43 then I'd urge them to re-think that. The 43 is so sharp that you can easily trim off the extra width and be left with a 50 that would be as sharp as anything from a 50 - and of course you've now added some flexibility to your shooting.

The shot below ( I think I've posted before) is when I was caught short (of the perfect focal length) but the 43 still came through with decent shots.

And a 100% crop from the shot above :

This may as well be a FA 43 limited club thread.
Beautiful work shown here.
Love the rendition.
