A series of our favorite lens PENTAX FA Limited has received recognition and awards for best long life design!

I couldn't think of a better series of products in any field to be awarded this accolade.

I don't think Peter meant that the series being discontinued is well deserved.

But I can see how you may have interpreted it that way from the way his post reads - note, though, Peter did separate the two parts with a clear divider.

But I thought the rumour that FA ltds were being discontinued was unsubstantiated:

They aren't discontinued, the rumor was total hogwash.

You should go out and buy one, to ensure their long life

I'm currently saving up for the FA 77!

I found the linked page rather vague. Are they awarded the long life design award because they have been designed years ago and are still popular? Or because the lenses are durable? It seems to be the latter, which is good I think. The idea that you can just get a finely crafted product and let it grow on you, rather than use it until the new generation appears, is something rather foreign to the modern consumer. (I will go as far as believing this is one of the main problems of our times.) So I like this award
