IMO, the Aus pentax importer is doing their best to kill off the brand in this country

EG. a local based 15mm LTD from a cheap shop:
Pentax Lens DA 15mm f/4 ED AL LTD - Digital Camera Warehouse Australia
!!! $1330 WTF?

I just got one from USA for $approx $560 including shipping. I don't think a local warranty is worth it in this case.

The reason i say that Aus pentax importer is doing their best to kill off the brand in this country is because they will offer to price match from OS. So, if you email them with a link to a price at B&H then they will match it. Sounds good right?!?!
What if you are a camera shop and your own supplier is undercutting you? Then you would say "fair go mate" and stop selling their brand.

IMO, fcuk the middle men and sell direct or setup your own pentax aus store.

the outrageous premium alibi for the local warranty offer is nothing but a weak attempt to trick the feeble-minded person into thinking that it is better than buying or importing from outside. anyone who thinks that they could get better warranty coverage or better conditioned items as opposed to buying from B&H or in the online used market is vain.

as far as middle men are concerned, it is one of the biggest No-No's when it comes to business deals. if you smell that there's a varmint, get out asap and look for other better deals.
