Where is the Da40?

Does anyone know the status of this lens? It is out of stock at B&H and Adorama. Its been out of stock for months. Is Pentax implementing a new lens stategy (other than the price hikes)? Maybe B&h and Adorama just can't keep them in stock, their prices seem to be the lowest.

Many lenses and the DA 40 in particular go in and out of stock pretty often. The lenses Adorama and BH do receive may be going to people who purchased them while they are on back order. Those people will get them first. If you're looking for one you might try KEH or the other used sellers.

I doubt Pentax is pulling the DA 40 from the line. It is probably the most popular and certainly the most affordable DA Limited.

Abesofmaine still have the DA 40mm in stock but their price is higher about $30 compare to adorama and BH.

Just keep checking BH every couple of days. That's what I did for a couple weeks and then one day it was back in stock. I made my order, got mine, and a few days later it was back out of stock again.

I ordered my DA 40mm 2 days ago with Adorama and it's on backorder. Hope I could get it before Oct so I can travel with a pancake.

Update: Just received the shipping email for my DA 40mm, even though it's still show as backorder on their website.
