Lens Repair

I've managed to get a ding in the filter thread of a SMC-M 50mm F1.7.
I dont think it's repairable.

I'm wondering if I could cannibalise a ropey F2 for the filter ring but need confirmation that it is the same for both lenses.

Anybody got any thoughts?

I have repaired one or two of these well enough for filters to fit again, by resting the "dinged" bit of the rim on a block of rubber and using the rounded end of the handle of a wooden spoon against the ding, and tapping the spoon with a wooden rolling pin!!
The wood seems to be soft enough not to damage the filter threads, and the radius of the wooden spoon handle seems about right for the typical 'ding'......Works for me!

I had considered this but it is a fair ding and I would be working a little close to the front element for my liking but might have to just to get the ring off.
