Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8 EX DG

Hi!
I would like to buy a wide angle lens to suit both my film camera (ricoh kr10m), and my future dslr (k7).
My passion is to do climbing and mountaineering, so I become interesting on taken pictures due to those activities, that's why 90% of my shots are landscape.
I came across with a Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX DG lens on ebay (Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX DG Pentax *USED* - eBay (item 250709924173 end time Oct-14-10 13:06:44 PDT)), but I can find any review of it. Someone have this lens? Knows somwthing about it?

Thank you very much for your help.

Pd: sorry for my English but isn't my tongue!

I do indeed own this lens!

Though I haven't had long to use it, I bought it as a FF ultra-wide lens for my Pentax film cameras (An MX, LX, Super Program, K1000, *ist and PZ-1), as well as a fast wide-angle zoom for my digital. I compared it to the Pentax FA J 18-35, and although it's very heavy, the images that it produces are very sharp. I'll post some samples here:

All samples are at 17mm:

It's a good, fast lens for Ultra-wide FF work. On a Digital it's a good fast wide-to-normal (Approximately equal to a 24-53mm lens.)

I'd say get it. I love mine.

I have this lens. When I go backpacking I do not have room for much. I carry only this lens and my K-7 in a sling bag on my chest. It is a good lens and the build quality is top notch. The close focusing is good too. PM me for some links to my photos with it.

Thank you for your answer unixrevolution
Your pictures help me a lot, it showns the sigma performes quiet good; enought at least for my needs.
I do my math also, and taken into account thar crop factor for the K7 is 1.5 I get the same figures.
Thank you again.

Cheers

Thank you StephenMerola
I was thinking to use this sigma with my future K7 as a prime lens for going around; so it's nice to here from you that they match ok.
I'll send you a PM.

Thank you again!

Cheers
