Tamron 28-75mm BF/FF issues

I am getting a Tamron 28-75mm for approx $275 from a used lens dealer. I am interested in this lens but heard about bad copies and BF/FF issues with it. Seller is in another city so there is not way to return or test this lens.

How prominent are these issues and any way to correct them in k-x if copy happens to have these issues.

Yusuf

If you cannot return this because of optical misalignment or BF/FF, then DON'T buy it. Only the Tamron owned labs could fix their own lenses properly, and won't be cheap either. As I said b4, Tamron have designed a few truly awesome optics in recent years, but they were all poorly built. Not worth the trouble imho.

The problem is the BF/FF varies at different focal lengths. I went through 3 copies a while back (documented it in a thread somewhere in this forum IIRC). Shot at 28/50/75 at 2.8mm. One was sharp at 75 but fuzzy at the others, one was sharp at 50, but fuzzy at the others. fuzzy=bf/ff One was just plain fuzzy (lens element w/ halos).

Agreed, the odds are not great (sorry).
