I don't own the 35 though, nor do I own the 43, that's why I said "the limiteds I have". If anyone wants to send me them though I'd be happy to give my opinion on their IQ

I love my DA40, besides it I only have the 18-55 kit and a M 50 f1.7, so that lens lives on my K-x. Here are a few examples for you, hope they help. Only one complaint is the f2.8, if it was f1.8 Id never look at another lens again ever!

Great shots!

DA 40 is a hell of a lens - just normal enough to be flexible, just unique enough to be special.

The only thing I do not like about the DA 40 is the focusing ring is annoying to use. Its a fantastic lens and a true bargain in all other respects.

Of all the current Pentax lenses, it is the by far the best value with uncompromising quality.

Something we agree on

edit: Unless someone's budget is very tight, and then the DA35/2.4 might be the better value (to them) out of the Pentax lineup.

Not sure how you can replace a range of focal lengths with only one, but the DA40 is nice, small, and cheap.

I don't know...every time I think about how I should get the 70 or the 21 to add to my 40 so I can cover more focal lengths but then I end up asking myself if I need those, my style works pretty damn well with just that little 40 not to mention it's so easy to pack around. So I guess it depends on your style as to which focal length works best or if you need a spread. It definitely is nice, small and cheap!

You are very lucky. Alas, the 15 is not wide enough for me.

We might agree on many things.

This is one of those things where upon we happen to agree. In fact I almost wrote something to the same effect but was distracted by an interruption.

I know, I was just kidding around. I think if you take DA* lenses out of the equation, we'd probably agree on most things
