Also used to own the Sigma 100-300mm f/4 and I really liked it but on my K20D it just wasn't fast enough for what I wanted. Unfortunately there were not many other options at this focal length. Sigma 70-200 or Tamron 70-200 are options but not as long. Sigma makes some other lenses that exceed 300mm but the variable aperture are not nearly as appealing to me. The Sigma 100-300 is unfortunately no longer being made unless they would shock me (pleasantly) and rerelease it. I have been seeking one on the secondary market especially with the higher ISO capabilities of the K-5. Actually one for sale right now on here in the marketplace that is REALLY tempting!!
