SR Lens Adapter?

I just got an M42 lens and a couple of things handed down to me. One of the things the guy gave me looks like a mount adapter. It's two black rings that screw into each other. The thicker one says SR and Japan, the thinner one just says Japan. He said he thought it was an M42 to K adapter, but I don't think so. It doesn't look like any M42 adapter I've run across as yet so I thought I'd ask. Would have been nice, but I don't think it's the one I need. Here's a pic. Anyone happen to know what this one is for? Thanks!

Looks like a Minolta T-mount adapter.

That's definitely not an M42 adapter- looks almost like that bayonet is the 645 mount, but I'm not sure what this could be!

The bayonet is Minolta SR. It's easy to tell a Minolta mount, they have that notch in one flange.

So it's Pentax to Minolta or Minolta lens to Pentax?

It would be for mounting a T-mount lens to a Minolta body.

That's what I was kind of wondering. I thought it looked a bit like my M42 T-mount adapter. Well, that's a dud then at least for my purposes. I do have a T-mount but no Minolta here. Thanks!

The T-mount thread pitch is .75mm and the M42 is 1.0mm (It was a good idea intended to avoid mismatches back then!). If it "fits" but jams while mounting, it "fits to a 'T' " - pardon the pun.
