Pentax smc P-DA 35mm f2.4 AL, in Vancouver, BC...

The latest Pentax lenses that were announced recently seem to have made it to Vancouver. Broadway Camera has it listed in their Pentax page for $189.00 Cdn, but do not seem to have any lens actually in stock. Kerrisdale Cameras lists the Pentax smc DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6ED AL IF DC WR priced at $599.99 Cdn but again out of stock. The latter do not interest me at all, but the former - definitely have to check that out once it becomes available.

I picked up one from the store in Richmond on Thursday. I think it was the only one they had.

Have not had much time to test it out but it seems very sharp and the focus is quick and accurate on both my K7 and Kx.

I wanted this one as the Da 35 2.8 macro hunts a lot in auto focus on my cameras. Used in manual mode it is great and also good if you are focusing at the constant distances. (close then long distances causes it to search for focus)

The new DA 35 2.4 does not behave this way and locks focus very fast. Anyone that has the DA 40 ltd or has tried it will appreciate the new DA 35.

how about us prices for this lens?i saw one for 219,is it the only price for now?
