40mm 2.8 Limited - Lens hood

I read that the lens hood on the 40mm Limited is already installed on the lens when you buy it. Seems to be on mine...

How do I remove it?

*Can* I remove it? It seems to be stuck, and I dont want to break the lens.

Is there a benefit on having it on?

Just like the cap, you can unscrew the lens hood. It might be a bit hard to do because of the small size of the lens itself, but it should give after a few tries

Having the hood on will eliminate lens flare if you're shooting while it's sunny out- it also protects the front lens element in case you accidentally hit the lens against something.

If you have the lens facing you then turn the hood counter clockwise. Works excatly the same as a nut and bolt in that regard.

I made it

Now I think it's easier to remove the hood along with the damn cap.
