thou I agree 15mm is much more dramatic . super wide is fun.
for me just give me a 21mm that is as good as the 31mm for digital . I am willing to pay the price of 3 lenses for a really really good 20mm lens that is small , and fast , and SHARP as SHARP can be .
as much as I love the 20mm f2.8 (and I really love this lens!!! ) it is only sharp not WOW SHARP
then I will add to that the 43mm and 77mm
or 40mm and 70mm DA and I am set to go
I think there is a reason for it.
Forgive me for delving into the field of view vs format debate just a little, but 15mm on ASP-C is like a 22.5mm lens, and 21mm is like a 31m.5 mm lens.
WHen I shot film, I had 24 mm and found it was not bad for most things but was still not really wide enough. then I had my fast 50, and also a 28-105 zoom. I never really spent much time on the 28-35mm range with film, I find this focal length much more interesting now, on digital.
for me I can easily understand the demand for the 15
