Adapted Zuiko Auto-W lens on Pentax?

With a Olympus Zuiko Auto-w lens is it sort of like a manual Pentax A lens? You can leave the lens wide open at all times to focus just like an A lens and then the camera will stop down, meter, close the shutter and ready the camera. A zuiko auto-w is

almost like that? You leave it at say it widest of f2.8, the actual pic you want is f4.0. So you leave it wide open at f2.8, then focus, hit a button on the lens to stop down (done with an arm actuator), meter, snap the shuter and then release the button

the lens? After adapting this actuator arm is still able to do this? Do I have this right? There is also a DOF preview button on zuiko auto-w lenses? If so is that also functional after adapting?
