Knock-off Adaptall K mount adapters

Does anyone have any experience with these? I am just worried about them mucking up the lens to film place distance, or something like that and ruining the IQ. Ebay is littered with these cheap adapters.

here are some examples

Tamron AD2 Adaptall 2 Adapter to Pentax K10D K20D Km K7 on (item 260520261372 end time 03-Nov-10 07:58:26 EDT)

Tamron AD2 Adaptall 2 Adapter to Pentax K10D K20D Km K7 on (item 290422543065 end time 03-Nov-10 01:22:50 EDT)

Tamron AD2 Adaptall 2 Adapter to Pentax K10D K20D Km K7 on (item 320408986688 end time 29-Nov-10 02:48:24 EST)

Thanks in advance

Those don't have the A capability and the price isn't that much of a savings over the genuine P/K Tamron mounts. I would just wait it out and try to get the real thing. I haven't seen a knockoff for the PKA mount yet.

Worse than that, they don't couple at all with the aperture mechanism for either the camera or the lens, so you don't even get Pentax-M functionality. At best, you get a fully manual aperture. At worst, you would be forced to shoot wide open. I would pass. The P/K version is both common and cheap enough and works well in green button M mode with current generation Pentax dSLRs.

Wow. Didn't realize they didn't even have the ability to stop down the lens. Pretty major functionality. Thanks.

No aperture coupling so no ability to stop the lens down. Waste of money. The original P/K or KM adapters are still readily available from the used market.

I use a knock-off Tamron mount on my 500mm mirror lens, which doesn't need aperture control. It's quite solid and slop-free.

what they do have, which caught my interest is a thicker flange than the flanged mount M42 to K mount adaptor.

These might just have more use doing lens mount conversions so you can avoid filing the heads off the screws.

the M42 flanged adaptor only has about 0.8mm thick base, which is hard to drill for use with counter sink or counter bore screws.
