Need help with Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm lens

I just picked up a 1st version of the above mentioned lens, but I can't figure out how to get the lens out of macro mode. I'm told that by pushing the white button you can then move the macro ring. Maybe I'm being dense but I only see the aperture ring and another switch right behind the aperture ring to move from A to M. Right below the white button I see a U and on that same section I see a yellow arrow which seems to indicate something moves but for the life of me I'm not getting how to make the change.

If anyone knows or has this lens or even better has a manual that shows how to change it back and forth and could maybe scan the manual into pdf it would be greatly appreciated.

To change in and out of macro pull the zoom collar all the way back. There is a mechanical interlock with the mode switch

I have enjoyed the lens for 30 years. It is really a nice lens. I only stopped using it when I got my sigma 20-200F2.8

I still take it out just to prove I can manual focus

Focus action is about right 180 degree throw. Not too long not too short. This and one ring true zoom make it a fun lens

It is an amazing lens. By the way in macro mode, you focus mainly by pulling/pushing the focus ring, not by turning it.

You'll enjoy it, I'm sure.
