Yeah, zooms are damnation. That's why I only have 20, not counting a cine zoom I plan to mount on a fixed-lens P&S.

My zooms:

Kodak Ektanar and Extagraphic 100-150/3.5
Pentax DA10-17, DA 18-55, DA18-250, F35-70, A35-80, Tak-A70-200, FA100-300
Promaster (Tamron) 28-70/3.5-4.5 AF, 60-300/4-5.6
Schneider Betavaron 50-125/4-5.6
Sears 55-135/3.5 (Tokina), 70-210/4 and 80-200/4 (Samyang)
Sigma APO DG 170-500/5-6.3
Tamron 10-24/3.5-4.5 AF
Tokina RMC 35-135/3.5-4.5
Vivitar (Kiron) 80-200/4.5, Series 1 70-210/3.5

Five Pentax. Five Tamron, named or rebadged. Two each Kiron, Kodak, Samyang, Tokina.
See, no overlap. All very distinct lenses. No LBA. No problems. No problems. No problems.

Wait, do variable-macro TC's count as zooms? OK throw in a couple of those. And a couple Minolta-mount zooms I hope to sell. And that cine zoom. Now the zoom count is up to 25. No, I don't have LBA, I swear it. These are for... comparison, yes, that's it, I have these all for purely scientific purposes, they're just lab rats, that's all...

[/me struggles as the straightjacket is tightened]

I wasn't serious on that one.....recently I sold FA77 to buy DA50-135 and now I'm very happy with that zoom. Another one I would probably buy is Tokina 11-16, but it doesn't come in PK mount unfortunately. Some time ago i was close to buy Zeiss 35-70, but I resisted because the modification of the mount was quite difficult unlike the zeiss primes .

Hi Daniel,

Well, a little update on the LBA...

As it turns out I incorporated many suggestions. Absent are the DA*50-135mm (just arrived!) and Zeiss Ultron 50/1.8 (still converting it to M42). 20 lenses but looking to sell nearly half of them...

If you can pick most of them by looking, you probably need help (we can do group therapy, eh?). Otherwise from left to right are:

1. Leica 19/2.8
2. Leica 35/1.4
3. Leica 180/3.4
4. Vivitar Ser 1 A 105/2.5 macro
5. Zeiss 200/2.8
6. Tokina M42 90/2.5 macro with extension
7. Super-Tak 50/1.4 8 elements
8. FA* 28-70/2.8
9. Tamron 70-200/2.8
10. FA77ltd
11. Pentax A 400/5.6
12. Sigma 12-24mm
13. Pentax 12-24mm
14. Pentax K 15/3.5
15. Samyang UMC 14/2.8
16. Pentax K 135/2.5
17. Pentax K 50/1.2
18. Pentax F 50/1.7

There are obvious overlaps and I got them for the explicit purpose(?) of comparing. What I really use is about 8 lenses out of this mix. I wonder how many LBA sufferers actually make good use of their massive lens collections?
Man, that's is some quality you have assembled.....well i would start with the focal lenght you have duplicated (K15/Samyang14 ; DA12-24/Sigma 12-24 ; Leica 180/Zeiss 200 ; Vivitar105/Tokina 90 ; Tak50/A50) Than see what remains....

Well as it turns out I don't have these anymore. The A*200 macro is a $2000 lens and as much as I miss it I just couldnt justify keeping it. As for the A50/1.2 I missed it and just recently got the K version. Actually its all in the pic above and the list.
