I had the Sigma and sold it. But it's quite a nice lens and stopped down, it is extremely sharp at least in the centre of the image. It's certainly great value for money, I think.

the flare you are getting from the leica 'cron and 'lux are typical legacy lens type flare. A shame really because they do turn in an impressive performance.

This image convinced me that the summilux is a superior lens. I took a bunch of shots with the 31ltd and they all came out with burnt out highlights on the dandelion, less contrast and sharpness on the grass and just not such a good image. I will try to find it for comparison but I am afraid I may have deleted it.

image looked overexposed. do you have other samples? it would be better if you could post the same samples of that of the summilux for a side by side comparison. it's difficult to judge with only one lens to show.

Unfortunately I've deleted the matching 31ltd. I recall taking it at shorter exposures but could not get anything like the correct exposure on the flower and the grass, ie either the highlight on the flower was burnt out (no detail) or the grass was underexposed. The image above is a bit overexposed I agree but even so there is plenty of detail on the flower. That was the point I was trying to make.

I will see if I can make another similar test.

Also regarding flare it is not too bad on the summilux at all. Took some sunset pics last night which I will post shortly.

I'm missing the Zeiss Distagon 35mm 2.0 in this comparison.

I'd say it's the best value for money lens of the lot.
