Asahi Pentax Lens and Accessory catalog, 1976/77

I have this interesting Pentax lens & accessory catalog from the transitional period between the K and the M, which puts it in 1976/77. Here are some pages, I have 6 more to post...in the next couple of days

Very large sizes are available if you click through to flickr

Extremely cool. More rep points for you!

I think these images should find their way to the lens database section as a permanent resource!

Wow. I was just looking at some of my print copies of various Pentax catalogs this morning and thinking that Nesster would scan them and post them.

thanks for the interest. I like the ones that are half-this, half-that, such as the big ad Pentax took out to introduce the K cameras, where they were cheek to jowl with the last Spotmatics

Myself, I'm too cheap to own any of the lenses in this catalog, save the M 50/1.7 that came with a KX.

I have that catalogue....and a few others...they are good reading.
If you look at these images, you'll see displayed on the 9th double page displayed, a very unusual image.....displayed are the 85/210 zoom in both 3.5 & 4.5 versions, but to the best of my knowledge, no-one has ever seen a 3.5 version "in the flesh".
Cheers, Pickles.

Yes thanks for posting Nesster!

Some trivia for you, the first two pictures were taken in Vancouver, Canada.
(Fish-eye picture is Gastown and the bridge is the Lions Gate)

This is why I love to post these - there's something new to learn all the time!

Here's the rest of the lens related pages (in addition there are the focus screens, joy bags, spot meters and the like...)

Another blast from the past from Nesster.

Thanks for posting these. I still have some of these wonderful old promotional items around. Too bad Pentax doesn't provide them any longer. The times they are a changin.

Great!

Could you post by any chance the front and back cover of this brochure? That would be very enlightening!

Thanks in advance,

Vranx

Yes and no. I bought a microscope adapter hoping to use it, but I'm having trouble finding a microscope with one 25mm tube. Most of the ones I see have the two viewing tubes. It’s looking like it may be just a paper weight!

Good to know. I was tempted to search for the adapter. Thanks for the info, and good luck on your hunt to find a microscope.
