DA 35mm F2.4 AL reviewed...

erphotoreview dot com have done a technical review of the DA 35 F2.4 AL lens, including imatest results using both the K-7 and K-5 cameras (surprisingly there is a difference).

It sure looks like a very nice lens, despite the plastic body and mount.

Be sure to insert http:// before erphotoreview dot com.

Cheers from Jack

There's better be one!

What's erphotoreview.com? I've never heard of it before.

why do you need to complicate links?

Adam saw it and he didn't complain.

Couldn't you work it out?

Link to review here.

Jack, as far as I know, Adam isn't worried about us linking to other sites. Really, he seems to enjoy it--so long as the other site is willing to allow links back here. That's a whole different debate, but the bottom line is that you should feel free to put full links to sites when posting here.

As far as the review goes... I'm disappointed in my wallet because Pentax is doing such a good job with this last year's products. I can say that I'm entirely on the fence as to whether I want the 18-135 to be an excellent lens; WR in a superb, do-it-all zoom will tempt me to death.

Brief but good review. Distortion looks a little high though, which no-one´s mentioned before.

I agree, interesting (especially there being a difference between the K-5 and K-7), but very brief.

Distortion's only -0.83% (averaged), which according to photozone's results is about average for Pentax lenses in this range (like the FA 35 and the FA 31). The DA 35 Macro has less distortion, but that's typical of macro lenses.
