PK-A / R-PK TC not feeling the love

I got this TC, its labelled PK-A/R-PK, but can i assume this will not AF on my FA lenses ? Since there isnt an M/AF switch on FA's, i'm figuring that i cant/shouldnt manually focus ?

The TC will not have a screw-drive pass through so there is nothing to worry about when it comes to manual focusing. You don't want to manual focus a FA when it is attached to the camera and AF is turned on because the screw-drive will be engaged. Switching to MF simply disengages the screw-drive.

You will want to be careful with that TC though. The "Ricoh" pin might get stuck.

Thanks Boris

The TC engages and disengages fine, on body and lens. Just a matter of remembering to throw the body AF/MF switch to MF so i can manually focus the FA

One thing, considering this TC has the contacts, why no Aperture reading ? All i got is F ---

Read this thread.

It's simple after I figured it out. But I lost a lot of hair before that

Brilliant Bear!

Mine is exactly like your black version, 6 pins in a row, and the odd extra one further off round the flange.

I think some scraping is in order

That's the infamous Ricoh pin.

In this case, it's harmless because its head is rounded. The TC does not get stuck on Pentax camera body.

Yup, i checked that out thoroughly when i bought it. No issues with that pin

I did the scrape already, and the aperture in the metering is working fine
