I'd say that the only real differentiating factor between these options is the way you use them. I personally feel much happier and creative using a prime lens. Not sure why, but I find my best photos have come from my prime lenses (in terms of composition, not technical image quality). They're small and light and they get out of your way.

I take my 15mm with my pretty much everywhere. It may not be fast, weather sealed, have SDM or be particularly versatile, but I produce stunning shots with it, and greatly enjoy doing so. Just try one out and see if you get the bug.

Why there are so many these kind of question.
I think it all depend on ur shooting style...
I personally go to a lot of indoor event and outdoor event...If I use prime...OMG....Disastar....
I would never use prime becuase of my shooting style...
so get to know ur style, and u can get the answer by yourself...

For me the DA*16-50 just didn't work and i made the choice to sell it for the DA15/FA*24/FA43.
But like others said, find out the style (zoom or prime) you like and make your decision based on that.

Good luck with it!
